Rice Porridge and Coconut Chutney Recipe for Breakfast



A good breakfast fuels you up and gets you ready for the day. You know, from my food experience the most healthy breakfast meal is rice porridge with excellent side dish like coconut chutney recipe. It is a fact that the old people could live their healthy life without the life style diseases due to the influence of this rice porridge or congee in their life. Rice porridge and coconut chammanthi (chutney) is an important meal in their life. 

Rice Porridge's Benefits:


Rice is a very healthful food for human. Bran completes the benefits of rice. The rice with bran is better for the porridge. Bran is full of VIT E and protein. Rice is filled with fibre (cellulose). Fibre can resist many diseases. It helps to digest starch, fat and protein of our body. Fibres in the rice porridge function mostly in our intestines. Fibre remains water content in intestine and help for easy excretion.

Suitable Rice for Porridge:

Hand pounded rice or unboiled rice (Pachari) is good for preparing rice porridge. They fulfill the needs of body.

How to Make Rice Porridge in Home?


Ingredients:

Rice - 1 glass
Water - 2 glasses
Salt - 1-2 pinch

Method:

Place the pot on fire
Pour water into it
Add rice to it
Put salt
Mix well
Cook the rice well
Rice porridge is ready.

Coconut Chutney Recipe for Rice Porridge:

The healthy rice porridge will become more tasty and delicious with the coconut onion chutney. Here I am giving the exclusive recipe of coconut chutney side dish for rice porridge.

Ingredients for Coconut Chutney:


Grated coconut - a handful 
Big onion - 3-5 small pieces
Tamarind - a small goose berry size
Salt - for taste
Water - a little

Method to Prepare Coconut Chutney:



Put the entire above ingredients in mixer jar. Grind them well. Serve with hot and healthy rice porridge.

How Coconut Chutney Improves our Health:


Coconut is very healthy food ingredient when we use it in proper way. It contains many nutritious factors which help our body to become healthier. Fatty acids in coconut help our brain to boost up. It also improves blood cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart diseases. Coconut chutney kills our hunger, making you satisfied without eating too much. So it is also helpful for reducing fat. Coconut chutney with rice porridge increases our energy expenditure which leads to fat burning.
