Turmeric



Scientific name of turmeric is Curcuma longa. Its family is same as ginger that is 'Zingiberaceae'.

Turmeric is known as 'queen of spices'.

Turmeric/ManjalPeople use it for cooking and medicinal purpose.

We use its yellow root portion (rhizome).

Turmeric rhizome has curcuminoids. Curcumin I, curcumin II and curcumin III are important curcuminoids. These curcumins give yellow colour and special smell to this spice.

Turmeric rhizome has particular oil. It contains zingiberene, 2-turmerone and B-turmerone.

Turmeric powder is a common ingredient in dishes. Its presence will remove the toxins in vegetables, fishes and meat.

Researchers show that people can withstand or avoid cancer by using turmeric in recipes. 

The cancers like prostate cancer, stomach cancer and intestinal cancer can remove by daily turmeric consumption through curries.

Turmeric powder with curry leaf paste is useful for skin problems.

Pure turmeric paste can remove the pimples in adolescents. It is also helpful to remove excess hair on face of girls.

Turmeric juice with honey enhances pure blood production.

Mixture of milk and turmeric powder is used to overcome asthma.

Turmeric paste is good against spider or insect bites. It is also better for infection on nails. 

Turmeric - coconut oil paste can use to remove worms.

Turmeric paste can use for head ache.

Consumption of turmeric is used to cure throat problems.

Turmeric powder with lemon juice is better tip to make flour skin brighter. It removes wrinkles, black colour on your face/body. 

Anti oxides in turmeric can stop arthritis.

It is also a good medicine for diabetic patients. It control the level of insulin in the body.

Turmeric is a fat reducing agent. It enhances the resistance power of body due to the presence of various antiviral - anti fungal factors.

Turmeric can active brain and reduce the chance of Alzheimer's disease.

It avoids gas trouble, is useful for the eye's health also. It can be used from eye infection to Glaucoma.
