Salt is not a 'pure food'. That means it can't consume in raw form. But without it you can make a tasty recipe. Its proper level is essential for a curry or dish.
An adult should only have to consume 4g of salt maximum/day.
According to Indian culture and history, the salt had served firstly by Bhagavan Sree Krishnan (Lord Krishna) in Rajasooya of Yudishtir.
Proper salt consumption leads to correct level of thirst and hunger.
Salt is helpful to heal stomach injury, throat infection and tooth ache.
Heart patients and kidney patients should decrease the salt level in their dishes.
In Ayurveda, there're 5 types of salts.
- Induppu
- Thuvarchilayuppu
- Vilayuppu
- Kadaluppu
- Karuppu
A bad side of salt is that it makes more sputum your body.
According to nutritionists salt is merely an acidic chemical that derived from sea water. So it may be toxic some time. So add it only for a taste. Don't consider it as an ingredient.
Don't use processed salt because it may contain various chemicals.
So reduce salt in food. Taste the raw food by your tongue.
